Umbrella - The story of a delivery boy which will leave you speechless

This short film has a nice message. Online shopping which has become common now-a-days and we are happy to receive items at home. Sometimes delivery is delayed and we take out the frustration on the delivery boy. This needs to be changed. This film create a realization and changes our attitude towards delivery boys.

Ahalya Short Film - Sujoy Ghosh's Epic Thriller 'Ahalya' | Radhika Apte | Short Film 2015

Before you watch this movie you have to know the story of epic Ahalya. In Hindu mythology, Ahalya (Sanskrit: अहल्या, IAST Ahalyā), also known as Ahilya, is the wife of the sage Gautama Maharishi. Many Hindu scriptures say that she was seduced by Indra (the king of gods), cursed by her husband for infidelity, and liberated from the curse by Rama (an avatar of the god Vishnu).
When I heard the story it seemed illogical as only the girl was punished even though it wasn't her fault. But the short film is completely opposite and sounds fair. It's a great thriller and I loved the twist.

Teaspoon - Award Winning Hindi Short Film 2015 by Aban Bharucha Deohans

The plot depicted in this short film is similar to many houses in India. Man travels a lot; so the wife has to work from home to take care of her paralyzed father-in-law.  She does all the work without expecting anything, without complaining and finding happiness in little things. However she commits a grave mistake and the climax is unexpected.
I loved the film mainly because of the lead actress and awesome climax. You can skip the part in between once you have the gist of the plot as the common scenes are depicted but definitely watch the end.

Parched [2015]

I don't know if there was anything special in this movie but I kept watching it until the end. It doesn't have any fancy looking locations or people. The story revolves around the common difficulties women face in the small towns. Most of the time you will feel sad but you would want to watch what happens next and ultimately everything turns out fine.

Sairat [2016]

One of the greatest movie ever made!!!
I have watched this movie like a zillion times like many others. It is a love story between two teens who elope but fall prey to honour killing. Here are some of the greatest things I loved.

  1. Direction: Nagraj Manjule has done a fantastic job grooming the actors, choosing the locations and depicting the real life situations. He even concentrated on small things eg when Aarchi and Parshya elope, they keep on wearing the same clothers repeatedly on alternate days.
  2. Acting: Rinku and Akash have made everyone crazy with their performance. Their chemistry is cute. Everyone else have done great too.
  3. Story: The characters and well defined and they get transformed according to the situation.
  4. Music: All the songs are beautiful. The actions of characters are directed according to music.
  5. Locations: Scenes are shot in regular locations but they look amazing.
This film is very relateable. It makes us feel that Aarchi and Parshya could have been anyone amongst us. It makes us laugh, cry, tensed and stunned all at the same time.
